Eighth International Conference on Hyperbolic Problems
Theory, Numerics, Applications

Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg
February 28 - March 3, 2000

This meeting continues the biannual series of conferences which have so far taken place in St. Etienne, France (1986), Aachen, Germany (1988), Uppsala, Sweden (1990), Taormina, Italy (1992), Stony Brook, USA (1994), Hong Kong (1996), and Zürich, Switzerland (1998).

Like with the previous conferences, the aim of this meeting is to bring together scientists with interests in the theoretical, application, and computational aspects of hyperbolic partial differential equations. There will be an emphasis on nonlinear problems and applications in different fields. As it has been done in the past, a special effort will be made to make it possible for young scientists to promote their interaction with senior researchers.

This conference is held under the auspices of the EU-TMR Network "Hyperbolic Systems of Conservation Laws" and the DFG Priority Programme "Analysis and Numerics for Conservation Laws."

Contributed presentations

The contributed presentations are done as a combination of talks and posters. More precisely, a poster is mandatory for each contribution, while its oral presentation remains optional. To enable this system, there will be a poster session each afternoon for displaying the contents of all papers that have been orally communicated in parallel sessions earlier the same day. (Papers that are not orally presented during the week will be assigned to an appropriate poster session.) For the preparation of your poster, please follow our guidelines (separate page).
